Marie Edwards Spragins, 93, of Roanoke Rapids passed away on Wednesday, February 08, 2017.

Marie was the daughter of the late Wyatt Lester and Jennie Kinder Edwards. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Herman Spragins; her twin sister, Mildred Edwards; and her sister-in-law, Hester Spragins.

Marie was retired as the Assistant Clerk of Court for Halifax County after 32 years of service. After retiring she went to work part time at Branch Funeral Home and then Askew Funeral Services for several years. She was a longtime member of East Tenth Street Church of Christ.

She is survived by her sons, Lewis Spragins and his wife, Tracy, of Knightdale, and Tommy Spragins and his wife, Becky, of Roanoke Rapids; her grandchildren, Eric Spragins, Holly Spragins, Joshua Spragins and Jacob Spragins.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services with Ministers Dave Chapman and Randy Martin officiating.

Interment will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:30 until service time at the Funeral Home.
